We gave our 4-year-old her first pedal bike (moving up from a Cruzee balance bike) for Christmas and she rode it on the second try — no tears, just smiles all round!

The build quality is excellent and the ergonomics/geometry are spot on, making it so easy for her to control and enjoy. We haven't been able to keep her off it, which says it all really.

I also gotta say, as an interstate purchaser who preordered and required remote delivery, the service and communication we received was faultless. Adam was awesome to deal with and kept us informed of our orders’ progress from start to finish.

We honestly couldn’t recommend Base Bikes more highly. If you have a young rider learning to pedal, you can’t go past these bikes. 5 stars.

Absolutely blown away with how quickly my 3.5 year old daughter learnt how to ride. We transitioned her from a balance bike to this and she learnt in under a hour. She’s zooming effortlessly around with such confidence. The bike is worth every single cent!

This is an excellent bike!

My 4 year old had been struggling with a Byk (the coaster brake was causing issues) and generally not going well on the transition from balance bike to pedal bike.

I decided to chance another expensive kids bike, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a quality build, and very easy to put together from the box.

More importantly, my daughter got on and was immediately off! Her pedaling skills have improved exponentially. I see family bike rides in the near future.

Wow. Buying a fantastic quality bike has seen our kids go from hating riding to gliding around tracks with absolute ease. Very similar to WOOM bikes we used recently in Copenhagen. Base bikes are exceptional quality and beautifully crafted. Watching our kids build a love for cycling now with such a gorgeous product, is worth every cent! People have stopped us while riding to ask if they’re worth it - 1000 times - YES.

If only all businesses ran the way Base Bikes does! My son now owns an outstanding first bike which is super light, easy to ride, safe and looks so cool. And the service I received (as an interstate purchaser) was seamless, attentive, personal and so friendly. And the bike comes almost fully assembled in the box. I couldn’t rate this bike or the service any higher….11 / 10 from us!

Was looking for a lightweight bike for my son to transition from balance bike. Wanted something without coaster brake. Was struggling to find something here in Australia.
So excited to find Base bikes, Adam was fantastic to deal with answering questions buying the bike online and when the bike arrived was super easy to set up.
It really is a fantastic bike much lighter than other options, well built and in my opinion the best available here down under. The lower frame geometry means the 16 inch fits my son with plenty of room to grow. Very happy and highly recommended!

We bought this for our grandson’s 3rd birthday. He loved his balance bike but was beginning to ask each time he went out on it if he could have a peddle bike. He was so thrilled to get this bike. He chose the colour and was waiting eagerly. He did not hesitate to get on and take off though he did need us to help him coordinate everything on the first day. The second day he was away on his own and had mastered the break. The trickiest part for him has been taking off but on the third riding day he could even do this independently some of the time. It is a lovely bike and we expect it will last him a few good years as it is currently in the lowest position. It is a great fit for him as he can get his feet down easily and he was able to manage the bike easily push it along independently. He was a little obsessed with the bell. He continuously fiddled with it and it fell off. We lost an integral bit of it, and so he is currently riding without a working bell but this has been the only issue we have had since getting the bike. He loves his new bike!

She literally learnt to ride within 20 min. Makes my life as a parent so much easier.

Our kids started riding by 3 years old. Our 3.5 daughter just moved up to the base bike 16 and she loves it! It's so light yet well built. So impressive, and really great value.

If your kids love riding (and you don't want coaster brake!), there is no better bike for them, made here right in Australia too.

I'm thoroughly impressed with Adam's service – he's top-notch! When I was worried about the bike arriving late for my daughter's birthday, Adam went above and beyond to ensure it got delivered on time. He kept me updated on the delivery status and even chased the courier company to make sure everything went smoothly. Thanks to him, the bike arrived just in time!

The assembly process was a breeze. The team at Base Bikes had already done most of the work, so all I had to do was tighten the handlebars and attach the pedals. The bike itself is a significant upgrade from my daughter's previous one, which she'd had for two years.

This new bike is bigger, but it's also noticeably lighter and feels like a proper bike, not just a toy. The quality components make a big difference, and my daughter was confident and proficient on it from the start. She couldn't wait to ride it!

Overall, I'd say the bike and the service from Base Bikes are unbeatable.

Purchased this bike for my daughter to learn to ride. It’s been perfect and she loves riding it. I especially love the ability to remove the pedals and use it as a balance bike to get her used to the hand brakes and riding first. Also love how lightweight it is and easy to maneuver!

We discovered Base bikes through a community bike riding session. My 5-year-old said he’d never ridden such an “amazing” bike. It was his first time using gears but they seemed really easy to change up and down. And my 3-year-old finally got the courage to try riding on two wheels, and is now confidently keeping up with his brother. Thanks Base bikes!

We are all very impressed with our Base 20 bike - it is lightweight with a geometry that means it can be ridden confidently by kids at the lower end of the size guide safely. The gear shifter is unobtrusive, so children can set it and go, or change while riding.

Our child stepped up to the 20in bike from a 14in bike they had been riding for a year, aged 4.5. The transition was smooth and now we can’t keep up with them on foot anymore!

This bike has everything you would want in a bike for a child, and it is certainly a proper bike and not a toy bike!

It was so easy to set up out of the box and required no adjusting at all. I would recommend this bike to anyone who wants a high quality bike that will last a long time and help their child develop their cycling skills.

We came across base bikes after a bike lesson with Lee-Anne at Ride-a-bike right. The bike was perfect for master 6, lightweight, stable and durable for a growing boy.
